Robert Lewis

Sessional Instructor, Glass

“I make work that utilizes an optical phenomena that clear glass possesses. Working with transparency and varying thicknesses of clear glass gives me the opportunity to work with projection and distortion. Two characteristics of glass that have always captivated my attention. I am creating optical objects that reflect, re-project, distort and amplify their immediate surrounding environment, within themselves. These works become an access point for the observer to reevaluate the obvious and overlooked details of their surrounding environment they might pass by everyday.”
