Self-Directed Studio Residency | Hot or Warm Glass

This residency is self-directed allowing supervised access to AUArts’s Hot and Cold shops

WHEN: May 6 until June 3, 2019

Hot Glass Residency

This is a self-directed class allowing supervised access to AUArts' Hotshop and Coldshops for the month of May during designated times. This program is being offered to current and previous students of AUArts and alumni looking to hone their skills, and/or develop and complete projects.  Students must have taken at least two Glassblowing classes at AUArts and/or have a proven record of proficiency in a Hotshop.

Some assistance and guidance will be provided, but there will be no designated instructor. You will have access to all shop tools and equipment, and clear glass will be provided. Scope of work, glass usage and annealing cycles will be somewhat restricted (ie: Large scale castings will not be permitted, and annealing cycles will not support complex and/or large thick work. Any concerns about project constraints should be discussed with the Glass Tech before enrolling in the program.)

You will be given access to the facilities ½ hr before the class time for setup and must vacate the premises no later than 30 minutes after the blow slot is finished. Coldworking must be done during supervised access. All studio policies and procedures must be adhered to.

Warm Glass Residency
