Through this painting I tried to represent the way art interacts with maturity. I explored this through the contrast created by the teenaged figure playing dress-up in a greenhouse. Dress-up, playing, and the arts become increasingly inaccessible as one matures. I feel it speaks to the plight of many my age; those who care about the arts but see few opportunities to take them into their adult lives. The sun sets for many of us, playtime comes to an end and so we savor the time we have.
