Stories have been the primary means of sharing experiences, histories and helping people understand the human condition and ourselves since the dawn of civilization.
Today, stories persist in new forms as a primary means of entertaining people, helping them escape and better understand the complexities of modern life.
Long Tale is an exhibition about love—of books, of storytelling and their many contemporary forms.
From children’s books to graphic novels to award-winning animation, celebrated alumni and faculty of the new Alberta University of the Arts share their long and important history of storytelling excellence.
Formerly Alberta College of Art and Design, the University offers a unique programming mix in image based storytelling. As a result, we have many nationally and internationally recognized alumni in illustration, character design and animation.
Our reason for being—the power of story, the sequential arts and helping people escape to another place in their minds.
