The Meredith Helgeson Textile & Fibre Arts Scholarship (311-0571)

Meredith Helgeson has had a passion for textiles, sewing and creating for most of her life. She has taught quilting fundamentals and colour theory to interested students in Alberta since 1980. She continues that passion and interest in colour, colour theory and textiles and is an avid collector of vintage linens, indigo fabrics and Japanese Furoshki. Since 2010, Meredith has focused her attention on works in fibre arts, mixed media and paper and continues to teach her art and craft to others.

The Aecon Photography Award (310-0566)

For more than a century, Aecon and its predecessor companies have helped to build many of Canada’s most famous infrastructure landmarks — from the CN Tower and St. Lawrence Seaway, to the Vancouver Sky Train and Halifax Shipyards. But perhaps more importantly, Aecon also helped to build hundreds of factories, roads, sewer systems, theaters, bookstores, power plants, mine sites, arts centres, offices, hotels, casinos, and gas, electrical and telecommunications networks, that may not carry the same high profile but are, nonetheless, integral to the way we live and work.
