The traveling museum exhibit, "Beyond the Edge", takes a look at the Flat Earth Society of Canada (founded in Fredericton in 1970) historically and currently, along with curious details about two of its enigmatic members. Over its years of operation, the Flat Earth Society of Canada has been driven by a steadfast interest in questioning how and why we take things for granted.
Through artifacts and ephemera from AUArts Sessional Faculty School of Visual Art, Sculpture and artist Kay Burns, and on loan from the Museum of the Flat Earth, the exhibit embodies how inquiry plays an important role in critical thinking and knowledge acquisition.
Kay Burns is the founder of the Museum of the Flat Earth in Fogo Island, N.L.
