CEGM 100: Preliminary Gemmology
Learn about the nature of gems and the fundamental scientific concepts applicable to gem studies. Learn how to use small gemmological instruments, and explore gem cutting and cut styles. You will be introduced to different natural gem species (including non-mineral gems) as well as synthetic and imitation gemstones, and learn how to differentiate between them.
The program consists of 15 successive modules, taken part-time over 8 months. There will be no classes held on July 1, 8 and 15, August 5 and 12, and November 11.
Textbook and Supplies costs are not included in the course fees.
