ACAD is partnering with OCAD U to provide a set of online courses for you to complete on your own schedule.

This hands-on course introduces students to 3D modelling using Rhinoceros, basic rendering and animation. Students should learn about surface modelling, creating and editing 3D nurbs curves and solids. This course will cover Rhinoceros' functionality, and include the most advanced surfacing commands. Students are responsible for purchasing their own software for class.

Instructor: Alexandra Haagaard

Alex Haagaard is an interdisciplinary designer based in Toronto, Ontario. She works at the interstices of product, interface and systems design. Her main interests lie in the design of medical and assistive devices, especially, in the use of social science research methods to work with front-line medical workers and patients to identify and respond to their needs as users. In Haagaard's spare time, she also designs and creates jewellery that reflect her interests in the natural and physical sciences, using mineral and biological forms as inspiration. When she's not designing, you can find her geeking out over fossils and minerals, fashion and jewellery, and medical antiques.
