100 Drawings in a Week

Get really creative and push yourself to complete 100 drawings in a week. You’ll improve your drawing skills through your sustained drawing practice as your instructor helps you move from concentrating on mostly formal issues to more conceptual ones. Be introduced to past and current artists who have strong drawing practices and participate in individual and group critiques which will aid in your artist growth. All levels are welcome. In this course, you'll learn the fundamentals of After Effects and how to create simple animation techniques using the software. 

You will be introduced to the basic interface, and gain an understanding of how to create compositions, import assets, in addition to learning compositing and colour grading principles. You will also learn basic motion graphics techniques by animating shapes and text, and how to create movement and keyframes alongside an audio track.

Analog Photography | Sustainable darkroom

INSTRUCTOR :  Kyle Whitehead 


There is something really special about taking black and white photos with a film camera and having to wait to see your images. Learn basic camera functions before processing your film and printing on photopaper in a sustainable darkroom that practices eco-processing by using low toxic and non-toxic chemistry made from common household items, various plants and other organic materials. You will learn how to create high quality images in black and white and colour, with a focus on reducing or reusing darkroom pollutants and waste and will explore Lumen Printing and Phytograms, both plant-based print-out processes that don't require a camera or film negatives. GLASSBLOWING AND COLDWORKING BASICS! Apr 23 – Jun 11

INSTRUCTOR Robert Lewis

 

Learn the basic processes of hot glasswork, in a fully equipped, professional hot shop studio. Focus on solid and simple blown forms in a small class setting giving you plenty of work time and access to your instructor for assistance and coaching. The last class meeting will be for students to learn how to finish off their pieces properly in the coldworking studio and to critique their work. NOTE: ONLY natural fibre clothing (cotton), long pants and closed-toe shoes are mandatory in the hot shop at all times. Please see your course supply list online.
