Alberta Potters’ Association Scholarship

The Alberta Potters’ Association was established in 1968 and has since been providing opportunities and support to our membership ranging from enthusiasts to professional ceramic artists for over fifty years.

Award criteria: 
To be awarded to a Ceramics Major (Third Year) who has demonstrated a strong commitment to research and technical development of ceramics materials to further their knowledge and application to their studio practice. The recipient will have applied high standards in health and safety practices as it pertains to the ceramics studio facilities and equipment, and have shown a dedicated study to excel in the understanding of clay and glaze technologies.

Application process: 
  1. Upload all supporting documentation (images, statement, etc.) to Slideroom
  2. Application Deadline: Feb 1 (*applications will be accepted on the following working day, if the deadline falls on a weekend)
Submit/Submission : 
  • Five (5) images of current work
  • Image list indicating number, title, size, medium and date of completion of work
  • Artist statement

Award recipient is invited to attend Alberta Potters' Association AGM in June for the opportunity to meet with fellow ceramic artists and present their work. If award recipient is unable to attend AGM, a written or video report about their work is requested.
