ShowOff! Art Competition

Don’t be shy. Showing off isn’t always a bad thing – especially if you’re talking about the annual AUArts ShowOff! art competition

About 2021 ShowOff!

AUArts is offering Grade 10, 11 and 12 students from across Canada the opportunity to win mega prizes and showcase their art and design work in the 2021 Alberta University of the Arts ShowOff! art competition and virtual exhibition.

There are more than $20,000 in prizes to be won including the grand prize, "Best in Show" — an AUArts scholarship worth $5,000. That's nearly a year of tuition covered!

Bonus: if you win, your school wins too. Each award winners' high school gets money to buy art supplies.

Call for Submissions is now open!

Deadline to enter: January 31, 2021

How to enter: Simple. Submit up to three images of your original artwork, together with a description of what each piece means to you (we would love to hear about your process) and a brief letter of recommendation from your favourite teacher to SlideRoom before January 31, 2021. If chosen as a finalist, your artwork will be included in the virtual Show Off! exhibition hosted on our website. The jury will then award prizes to the top finalist.

We love seeing innovative ideas, so "show off" your creativity in whatever medium you like.

Eligibility: This year our annual curated exhibition is open to high school students in Grade 10, 11 and 12 attending recognized high schools across Canada!

Prizes: There are five prize categories with multiple awards given out in most categories. Winners in Grade 12 will receive tuition credit while Grade 10 and 11 students will win an art supply shopping spree. The single grand prize, "Best in Show", is awarded to a Grade 12 student and is a $5,000 tuition credit.

Exhibition & Awards Show: The ShowOFF! Virtual Exhibition opening and Awards Show will be held in March. Stay tuned for dates.
