Work hard to strengthen and build your portfolio in this intensive portfolio prep course. The focus will be on creating five works strong enough for portfolio submission for acceptance into AUArts, with an emphasis on observational drawing. Subject matter will include still life, landscape, the human figure, and portraiture.
Portfolio Prep courses are typically offered in the Fall and Winter terms. Updated course offerings can be found online.
Pre-College Program: 4 Weeks Each Summer
For students who want a more immersive learning experience that will set them up for success in post-secondary studies, check out our Pre-College Program which is held each summer. This is an accredited program for students 16+ who have completed grade 10. You get to experience university-level expectations and pacing while earning three AUArts degree credits that count towards a first-year elective course. This program is also recognized by other art schools, and credits are transferable.
Teen Summer Art Programs
During the summer, we run a series of studio classes for teens ages 13-16. It's a great way to enjoy the summer, learn new skills, and make friends with others who like art and design as much as you do!
