“My research includes twentieth and twenty-first century art and theory including decolonial theory, institutional critique, sensory studies, public art, installation and artist's cinema, and queer art practices and theory. I have a particular focus on historical and contemporary iterations in the genre of still life, edible art practices, as well as participatory and activist practices.”
Mark Clintberg is an artist who works in the field of art history. He is represented by Pierre François Ouellette art contemporain in Montreal, Canada, and is an Assistant Professor in the School of Critical and Creative Studies at the Alberta College of Art + Design. He earned his Ph.D. in Art History at Concordia University in 2013, where he was also an Assistant Professor, LTA. In 2010 he conducted Ph.D. research at Oxford University, St Peter's College, with the support of the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council. He completed his M.A. at Concordia University (2008), his B.F.A. at the Alberta College of Art & Design (2001), and was an exchange student at the Nova Scotia College of Art & Design (1999-2000). He is also an International Counselor for the V&A Waterfront / Zeitz MOCAA Curatorial Training Programme (Cape Town, South Africa). His research interests include installation, artist's cinema, edible art practices, sensory design in museums, and queer theory.
