Guy has been practicing Graphic Design and Illustration since graduating from the Alberta College of Art + Design (ACAD) in 1987 with a Bachelor of Design degree. He graduated from the University of Hertfordshire, London, UK in 2019 with a Masters degree in Illustration. He is a long-time professional member of the Society of Graphic Designers of Canada (GDC) and the National Cartoonists Association (U.S.).

Guy Parsons Visual Communications Inc. has been operating since 1988 and he has been producing artwork for print since 1978. Guy's work has appeared in hundreds of publications, notably the juried competition for the book "Restaurant and Food Graphics", for the National Restaurant Association 1994 Annual (USA). He has also won two awards for Illustration in the Graphic Designers of Canada, National Peak Convention (1999) and Applied Arts Magazine–Illustration category (2014). Guy's clients include companies such as Sports Illustrated, The Globe and Mail, Adobe, and Shell Canada. He also practices as a sessional instructor at ACAD teaching fun things—like Design, Drawing and Technology.
