Experience the work of Alberta’s finest emerging artists at the 2018 ACAD Grad Show

Calgary, Alta. - Alberta College of Art + Design’s (ACAD) and its Illingworth Kerr Gallery (IKG) will display the finest works and celebrate the Class of 2018 at the annual ACAD Grad Show. The exhibition offers the opportunity to view the work of graduating students from ACAD’s Ceramics, Drawing, Fibre, Glass, Jewellery + Metals, Media Arts + Digital Technologies, Painting, Photography, Print Media, Sculpture and Visual Communication Design programs. This year, nearly 200 graduating students, including the recipients of ACAD’s Board of Governors Graduating Student Awards, will present their work in the IKG and throughout the institution.

Admission is FREE and ACAD is open to the public.

WHEN: Thursday, May 17 until Saturday, June 2, 2018

Opening Reception: Thursday, May 17 at 4 p.m.

Gallery Hours: Tuesdays thru Friday from 12 p.m. until 6 p.m.

Saturdays from 12 p.m. until 4 p.m.

About Alberta College of Art + Design
Founded in 1926, Alberta College of Art + Design (ACAD) has been a major contributor to Canada’s visual culture in the 20th century, with many of its graduates gaining significant national and international reputations as artists, designers and creative leaders. ACAD provides accredited degree standard education and learning opportunities to 1,200 students enrolled in full- and part-time studies in a wide range of art, craft and design studio disciplines. In addition to credentialed undergraduate degrees in a variety of program areas, the College offers a Masters of Fine Art in Craft Media, making it the only institution in the province to offer and confer university-level undergraduate and now, graduate degree programs in art, craft and design. ACAD achieved university status on Thursday, March 1, 2018.
