Public Design Program Seeking New Clients for Fall 2017

ACAD's School of Communication Design is looking for participants for this year’s Public Design Program. The program has worked with not-for-profit clients from across the province for over 20 years. Inspired by the practicum project at the School of Visual Arts in New York, the Public Design Program pairs fourth-year students from the School of Communication Design with clients, who applied and were approved by course instructors, that provides students with practical work experience.

Clients pay a nominal fee of $500 per student assigned to a project. Projects must be completed during the Fall 2017 semester and can range from websites to posters to advertising, brochures, signage and more.

Organizations like The Alberta Children’s Hospital, Canadian Red Cross and the Calgary Board of Education have benefited from the work of a generation of Communication Design students.

As well, National Film Board, Foothills Academy, The Military Museums, KidSport Calgary and Calgary Blues Festival have benefitted from the skills of our students.

Please email Ian Fitzgerald for more information.
