New students: How to pay your Confirmation Deposit

The confirmation deposit is non-refundable and will be applied to your student account as a credit towards your tuition and fees.

Online banking payment

Sign into your online banking and set up AUArts as a payee in online payments. Search for “Alberta University of the Arts” or “ACAD.”  Your bank can assist you in this process.

Your account number is ALL nine numbers (including the four zeros) of your student ID and the first five letters of your last name, if your last name is less than five letters, it's your entire last name.

Example: If your last name were Johnston, it would be ‘000045678Johns’ OR if your last name were Low, it would be ‘000045678Low’

It takes up to 5-7 business days for AUArts to receive the funds.

Wire transfer payment

Wire payments will be accepted from international students without access to a Canadian bank. Please contact for more information.

Online payments: credit card (MasterCard and Visa) via AUArts webService (Students)

Paying by credit card through webService (Student) immediately shows on your account.

Access the webService (Students) app within myApps, click the link for Student Account Centre, and follow the steps. You can also authorize someone else to pay your fees, with their Credit Card, from the Student Account Centre.

NOTE: If paying by credit card, you'll be charged a non-refundable 2.65% PayPath transaction fee (minimum $3.00).

Former students accessing and paying for services and current students with locked accounts for non-payment of tuition and fees can pay by credit card at the alternate logon page. Use your User ID (Student ID) and PIN for access. If you do not know your Student ID and/or PIN please email the Registrar's Office at

Online payments: online banking

Add "Alberta University of the Arts” as a payee on your online bill payment profile with any of the following Canadian financial institutions:

Creating your account number

Your account number for online banking is your nine-digit AUArts student number (this includes any initial zeroes) and followed by the first five characters of your last name. Name characters are not case-sensitive.

Example: 000056789JONES or 000012345Smith

If your last name contains spaces, a hyphen, period or other punctuation in the first five characters of your last name, omit these characters.

  • Names with spaces: If your last name is Van Gogh, omit the space and use “VANGO” as your five characters.
  • Names with hyphens: May-Ross = MAYRO
  • Names with other punctuation: St. Louis = STLOU
  • Names with less than five characters: If your entire last name, omitting punctuation, is less than five characters long, just use the characters you have (e.g., if your last name is Hall, use 000056789HALL).
Making your payment

When making a payment, enter the amount owing on your student account by completing the transaction according to your financial institution's online banking instructions. You can look up your student account balance through webService (Students) on myApps.

If you encounter difficulties using AUArts webService, contact the Registrar’s Office at 403.284-7634.

Again, be aware that it can take 5 – 7 days for funds to appear on your student account at the university.
