Kyle Chow

Sessional Instructor, Visual Communications

“My focus in graphic design revolves around design as a way of thinking; creating communications that are strategically targeted to a specific audience. Although it is easy to get caught up on aesthetics, I believe great design thinking is built upon a solid structure, form, and experience.”

Since 2007, Kyle Chow has played a leading role in the growth and development of Combine Design & Communications, an innovative, Calgary-based design firm. His areas of focus include publication design, branding, digital technologies, online media, art direction, and client relations. Through these areas Kyle focuses on understanding the creative process, communicating this process to clients in an approachable manner, and in developing effective communications that incorporate considered design. Combine's portfolio of clients has included Reach!, Alberta Cancer Foundation, Alberta College of Art+ Design, Western Living Magazine, The University of Calgary, Konzuk, Humber College, and many arts and culture organizations.

In 2014, Kyle embarked on developing Plant, a local indoor gardening retailer focused on terrariums, quality goods and handmade wares. He applies his design background to create unique environments that act as living artwork in Calgary homes and offices.
