Correction of personal information
The Protection of Privacy Act (POPA) section 7, allows individuals to request the correction of their personal information, where the individual or an authorized representative believes the information held by AUArts contains an error or omission.
An individual has the right to request a correction of personal information, not a right to have a correction made. Requests for corrections can be made for factual information (proof will be required), not opinions on the individual (e.g. subjective assessments or evaluations of an individual’s condition, abilities or performance).
For more information, please see the Fact Sheet on Requests for Correction of Personal Information.
