Closing Reception: Jenifer Darbellay Memorial Award Fundraiser

Join us for the closing reception and final bidding of a special wearable-art-themed silent auction in support of the Jenifer Darbellay Memorial Award.

Presented by the Fibre Program at Alberta University of the Arts, this fundraiser brings together an inspiring collection of over 40 works donated by AUArts alumni, Jenifer’s theatre colleagues, friends and family and current students.

Browse and bid on a diverse selection of pieces, including custom-dyed garments, woven scarves, jewellery, paintings and more — all in support of emerging Fibre students.

Established by former classmates, the Jenifer Darbellay Memorial Award is tribute to Jenifer’s life and work as an artist and costume designer. Jenifer Darbellay (Dip '96, Textiles, BFA '97, Textiles) graduated with distinction and received the Board of Governors’ Award. The fund directly supports students pursuing a Fibre concentration.

Online bidding is now open. Final bids will take place in person during the closing reception.

Coinciding with the reception, the Illingworth Kerr Gallery will host the MFA Craft Media Thesis Exhibition Opening, while Fibre and Jewellery & Metals students showcase work throughout the Main Mall.
