Join us on September 16, 4-7 pm at Devonian Gardens for opening night of the public art exhibition Fragment to Form | Katie Ohe and the Shape of Persistence.
This special event celebrates Katie Ohe (Dip '60, Sculpture and Honorary MFA 2018), one of Alberta's most pioneering sculptors and the journey of her beloved sculpture Day and Night. Presented in the Gallery space at Devonian Gardens, this small and focused exhibition will feature Katie Ohe's artworks from The City of Calgary's public art collection, joined by a selection of special pieces on loan from the artist's private collection.
Guests will have the unique opportunity to meet The City of Calgary's public art conservator for an engaging conversation about the preservation and relocation of Day and Night from Prince's Island Park to Devonian Gardens.
4:00 – 4:30 PM | Conservation Chat — Meet The City’s public art conservator and get an insider’s look at the conservation of Day and Night.
5:00 PM | Opening Remarks from The City of Calgary and Kiyooka Ohe Arts Centre.
