With Sondra Meszaros (Sessional Instructor)

Sondra Meszaros’ practice explores counter-narratives of female sexuality and the representation of women within the history of image-making. Drawing on feminist performance art and the irreverent strategies of Dada, her work engages processes of collecting, archiving, and re-presenting visual materials to challenge and renegotiate dominant portrayals of the female figure.

Meszaros graduated with honours from the Ontario College of Art and Design and received her MFA from the University of Windsor. She teaches in the Drawing Department at the Alberta University of the Arts in Calgary and was awarded a residency at the prestigious International Studio & Curatorial Program in New York in 2018. Her work is held in numerous private and corporate collections across North America and Europe.
