Anahita Mosayebi is an Assistant Professor of Object Design and Digital Fabrication in the School of Craft and Emerging Media at Alberta University of the Arts. As an interdisciplinary artist, designer, and researcher, her practice investigates the convergence of sensorial bodily experiences, digital technology, and material agency. Her research framework, Spatial Improvisation, examines the liminal space between computational precision and material unpredictability. By integrating Affect Theory, Affordance Theory, and Extended Reality (XR) workflows, she translates transient phenomena—such as soundscapes, emotional ambiguity, and spatial gestures—into physical objects and immersive environments.

Drawing on over 15 years of professional experience across architecture, interior architecture, and industrial design, Anahita investigates how embodied making informs the dynamic interplay between persistence and change. Her creative research materializes through bodies of work including Tangible Affects, which captures sensory flow within augmented space, and Spatial Music Box, translating acoustic layers into dynamic shadow play. She holds a Bachelor of Architecture (2008), a Master of Industrial Design (2013), and an MFA in Craft Media (2023).
