ShowOff! Competition

Time to ShowOff!

Grade 10, 11 and 12 students from across Canada are invited to showcase their art and design work in the 2027 Show Off! Art Competition at AUArts. There are some amazing tech prizes to be won for each grade category! 

How to enter: Simple. Submit one (1) of your best, original artwork, together with a description of what the piece means to you by January 31, 2027. Submissions are accepted as documents (Word or PDF) submitted via form that will be made available below. All artwork will be judicated and the top 6 students (2 per grade) will be awarded a prize and showcased on our website.

What to submit: We encourage you to submit artwork that is unique and showcases your interests. The jury favours original, unique, artwork demonstrating strong technical skills with relevant and impactful concepts. Reference should be generated by the artist as much as possible.

What NOT to submit: Fan art or reproductions of existing artwork including artwork that is heavily referencing Anime or Manga. References (celebrities, other artists’ work) found on social media (Pinterest/ Instagram) as the primary subject matter for your. 

Eligibility: Participants must be currently attending a recognized high school located in Canada and are in grade 10, 11 or 12.

Prizes: There are three (3) prize categories with two (2) winners per category, one winner from in province Alberta), and one from out of province (rest of Canada). Winners in Grade 12 will receive an iPad, Grade 11 Meta Glasses, and Grade 10 Bose earbuds as their prizes. Students and their artwork will also be showcased on the website.
