Apply for 2026 Summer Residency Program

The Summer Residency offers space for up to 25 artists who have demonstrated technical skill in their studio areas. Resident spaces in studios are limited. We encourage applications from: 

  • Alumni and community artists 

  • AUArts undergraduate students with at least 90 degree credits and a minimum GPA of 2.0 

Up to 10 research scholarships are available to support outstanding residency projects. All eligible applicants will automatically be considered for a scholarship based on the strength of their Research Proposal. Scholarship awards range from $250 to $500 and will be applied directly to the residency fee.

We offer facilities for Ceramics | Glass | Drawing | Fibre | Jewellery | Painting | Print Media | Photography | Media Arts | Sculpture | Visual Communication and Design 

About the program  

During the 10-week residency, you will have an assigned home studio space and access to studio facilities and technical support to develop your independent studio work and research. Residency activities such as visiting artist talks, studio visits, group critique and seminar sessions are hosted throughout the summer to add to your experience. 

Fees 

Residency Fee (non-student): $1,500 + GST 

Residency Fee (AUArts student): $1,100 + GST 

Network access fee (mandatory): $72.80
