Join us for the celebration of a century on October 1, 2026.

Join Alberta University of the Arts for a special Centennial Celebration marking 100 years of creativity, community and artistic excellence. 

For a century, AUArts has been a place where artists, designers, makers and creative thinkers come together to learn, create and shape culture. This celebration brings our community together to recognize the people, ideas, partnerships and experiences that have shaped AUArts over the past 100 years, while looking toward the future. 

 

Explore, create and celebrate 

Spend the evening exploring campus, connecting with the AUArts community and discovering what’s happening across our creative spaces. 

You can discover: 

  • AUArts Tech Show, featuring work by our studio technicians 

  • Curated tours of the new Bookends exhibition at Illingworth Kerr Gallery  

  • A special talk with art historian Jennifer Salahub (Professor Emeritus) about connections between art, history and the trajectories they create 

  • A Lodgepole Center-led Indigenous workshop with Stoney Nakoda artist, designer and creative entrepreneur Bodeen Twoyoungmen 

  • Hands-on creative activities with faculty and technicians 

  • An AUArts Students’ Association-led scavenger hunt 

  • Centennial merchandise and custom AUArts swag 

     

Centennial Scholarships Auction preview 

Get a first look at approximately 20 works by renowned artists from Alberta and across Canada, including AUArts alumni. The works will be available for bidding from October 19 to 31 in an online auction supported by LEVIS Fine Art Auctions and Appraisals.  

All proceeds support AUArts Centennial Scholarships. 

 

Activations  
Explore exhibitions, creative spaces and activities across campus, connect with the AUArts community, and enjoy food, drinks, music and photo opportunities.
