Saturated: AUArts Summer Residency Exhibition 2026

The exhibition is a group show held in partnership with the Contextural Fibre Arts Society.

Saturated is a group exhibition presented in partnership with the Contextural Fibre Arts Society, whose summer residency takes place alongside the AUArts Summer Residency. As the culminating exhibition for both residency programs, Saturated brings together artists from diverse backgrounds and disciplines, fostering community, collaboration, and creative exchange across a wide range of practices.

The 2026 AUArts Summer Residency offers artists the opportunity to immerse themselves in their creative practice through sustained access to the university’s studios and facilities. Over the course of ten weeks, artists pursue independent projects united by a shared commitment to experimentation, exploration, and making. The title Saturated reflects this state of creative immersion, where ideas, materials, and processes accumulate, overlap, and evolve through sustained engagement.

Featuring works in canvas, clay, paper, fabric, video, and other media, the exhibition presents a range of practices from experimental investigations and works in progress to fully realized pieces. Together, the works reveal the outcomes of intensive studio practice while highlighting the relationships that emerge through shared creative experiences. Saturated invites viewers to experience the density of ideas, colour, texture, and process cultivated throughout the summer, celebrating the curiosity, persistence, and spirit of discovery that define the residency experience.
