Shift: Marie Lannoo and Katie Ohe
Shift includes the works of two senior women artists.
This exhibition brings together the works of two senior women artists working on the prairies. Marie Lannoo’s paintings and sculptures depict the complexity and subtlety of light. Katie Ohe’s (Dip '60, Sculpture and Honorary MFA 2018) kinetic sculptures engage touch and perception. Both activate the body and are concerned with shifts in light, space and perspective. Lannoo brings a scientific understanding of light and colour to her work and Ohe executes her sculpture with mechanical precision. Interacting with their work is an embodied experience and the paintings and sculptures shift as they react with visitors on an emotional, physical and psychological level.
This exhibition is organized by the Art Gallery of Alberta and curated by Lindsey Sharman.
