Kelly Hopper

External Governor

Kelly Hopper has taken some time away from a 25 year career in business, primarily in finance, accounting, and transformational work in consumer-based industries, to spend time with elderly parents and put her skills to work to serve voluntarily in the Calgary community.

Kelly started her career in Calgary in public accounting in the Big 4, then Kelly currently serves on the audit committee of Tourism Calgary as well as on political boards in Calgary.   She has approximately 25 years in the private sector primarily working her way up to senior financial and operational roles both domestically and internationally. Her work was focused on building brands, and transformation of business and departments to help make them (even) more successful.  Her passion is leadership, leveraging people as the most important asset of any organization, and treating them as such. Kelly was an active volunteer in the arts community in Dallas (Dallas Museum of Art) as well as a donor and patron for several different arts organizations.  She is proud to have danced ballet in the opening ceremonies of the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary. Kelly believes our artistic community helps add beauty to life.
