Qurban MohammadAcrylic Paint “Qurban Mohammad” depicts my grandfather resting on a park bench at sunset. He is visited by my cousin’s two pet cockatiels who have passed away. Although they are no longer physically present, I included them to represent memory, companionship, and the quiet emotional connections that continue to exist in the heart and mind. This piece is deeply personal, but I wanted it to feel peaceful rather than heavy. Instead of focusing on sadness, I focused on stillness and reflection. The birds sit gently on his arm, acting as a secondary presence rather than the main focus, similar to how memories often exist quietly within us. Through this work, I explored how emotion can be communicated through atmosphere, posture, and subtle symbolism. The piece reflects wholesome relationships and how they continue to shape us, even after loss. |
