Alberta Craft Awards 2023

Alberta Craft presents the 2023 Craft Awards.

The bi-annual Alberta Craft Awards are designed to honour individuals and groups who make significant contributions to Alberta’s Fine Art culture.

This year’s nominees are:

Early Achievement Award: Daniel Labutes (BFA ’19, Ceramics), Jennifer Illanes (BFA '16, Sculpture), and Leia Guo (BDes '23, Photography)

Excellence Award: Albertine Crow Shoe, Douglas Pueschel, Karen Cantine, and Natalie Gerber (BFA ’03, Fibre)

Linda Stanier and Family Memorial Award for Excellence in Ceramics: Mao Projects, Lael Chmelyk (BFA ’20, Ceramics), Ruby Serben, and Teresa Wyss

Tom McFall Honour Award: Anna Bilek, Jamie Hurlburt, KJ MacAlister, and Michelle Hardy

Fibre Arts Award - Hand Weavers, Spinners and Dyers of Alberta Endowment: Sheep Creek Weavers and Tanis Simpson
