Visiting artist talk: Becky McMaster

Becky Daisy McMaster is a multifaceted entrepreneur, artist and designer. As the co-owner of Workshop Studios, a dynamic creative space and ceramic school, McMaster plays a pivotal role in supporting over 30 jobs in the creative sector, encompassing full-time, part-time, and contract positions. With a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with distinction from the Alberta University of Art and Design, McMaster combines her expertise in fine art and design with her entrepreneurial acumen, which she honed through the completion of an Entrepreneurial Business certificate from the Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center at Mount Royal University. By leveraging her arts and business background, she provides a financially stable space for fellow artists to thrive in. Beyond her business endeavours, McMaster maintains an active studio art practice, exploring sculptural ceramics, the art of reclaiming and recycling clay through slip casting, handmade tile production, and painting within the context of abstraction and collage.
