Walk for Reconciliation 2022

Free Registration

The Walk for Reconciliation is an opportunity to reflect on the difficult history and atrocities of residential schools in Canada, the legacies of survivors, and how to move forward together to overcome adversity.

The Walk for Reconciliation started in 2009 as a partnership between the Trellis Society (formerly the Aspen Family and Community Network Society) and the Aboriginal Friendship Center of Calgary. It began to commemorate former Prime Minister Stephen Harper's formal apology to the survivors of Indian Residential Schools.

The annual walk, originally held on June 11, was moved to June 21, National Indigenous Peoples Day, to acknowledge the larger conversation and active movement towards Reconciliation.

Registration is required. Walk is free and open to everyone.
