Tourist PhotosIn my house, a family outing is not complete without me taking a silly tourist photo for my dad; it does not matter if the whole world is watching, my father will still strike a pose just to make my mom and I laugh. In this piece, I wanted to capture my father's vibrant and warm personality through one of my favorite tourist photos of him. I chose to work in a black ballpoint pen instead of using the photo's original bright colours because I wanted the vibrancy and life of the piece to be my father's spirit instead of the color pallet. Also, working in ballpoint pen helped me enhance the beautiful detailing and texture that were difficult to see in the original photo. |
