Bicycles in Bloemgracht
This piece was inspired by a photograph taken on a recent trip to our family homeland of Holland. The architecture and lifestyle seen in the photograph sparked my creativity. It was while painting closely, that I became fascinated by the intricate architecture and over-abundance of bicycles, which is a common form of transportation in Holland. This led me to create a piece that was broken into 3 distinct sections. Each third is rendered in a different medium: left segment- charcoal, Center segment - printed photograph, Right segment - acrylic paint. Painting landscapes has become my passion, as I love to transform authentic photographs into original works of art.
