StruggleThis piece is a still life oil painting on canvas I named ‘Struggle’; a depiction of a skull beside my sculpture ‘Reflect’ laid upon two different organza cloths colored deep shades of blue. A piece that belongs to my exhibit under the overarching theme of "Loss of Identity due to Displacement," the skull and the broken pieces of clay and shards of glass with the outstretched hands are purposed to symbolize the metaphorical “death” of my search for self-definition due to my immigration and the unsatisfying conclusion to my journey of identity. |
