Drama Queen
Using a self-portrait depicting myself as a conventional “prom queen,” I illustrated the impact of gender stereotypes through my personal experience, and how women are seen as inferior under the patriarchy due to their perceived emotional and dramatic nature. I used glitter as a visually appealing element throughout the piece to create an ironic statement ‒ emphasizing the underlying beauty that lies beneath tragic inequality.
