BusinessWanting to pursue a career in art can be daunting and unfulfilling, so many people choose to pursue other paths in lieu of their artistic outlets, more often than not out of pressure from their family and their own fear. For me, I have full support from my family in every way but financially, but am essentially stuck in my own head and considering other paths and backup options out of the fear of failure. One side is realistic, showing me stuck and pressed against the glass, whereas the other is doodled, sketched, showing a plan to escape that has yet to come to fruition. Inside is a blank space containing what I would need to escape; a little bit of paint and some courage. With a briefcase as my canvas, the meaning and implication of a career is inherent and emphasized, giving me the opportunity to do something as loose as the “plan” side, something that almost directly copies from things I doodle on the edges of my pages or in the margins of my notes. |
