Self Portrait
This piece offers two different views of the subject, giving the opportunity for the mind to truly examine and understand the portrait. The opposite colours help the viewer to separate certain elements of the image while ultimately combining two opposing emotions as one. The entire image in its fluidity encompasses the internal mechanisms and complexity of the soul. By using coloured pencils, I was able to transform this idea into reality because it allowed me to blend the two images seamlessly. The purpose of this piece was to exemplify a duality in the individual, as the opposing colours offer the truth that one is composed of many different faces.
