Reflections in StationaryIn this composition, many of my artifacts are sprawled across the piece while my hand is painted, painting a stylized self-portrait. This piece was meant to define who I am through tangible items. They visually encapsulate academic pursuit with calculus homework, warm childhood meals and memories with a salmon keychain, and significant swim rewards shaping my career. Finally, the portrait or entire piece for that matter was made to be exciting and has many aspects to draw your eye in. All of the individual elements contribute to the identity of me. This piece was a way to express myself in a non-traditional way. I feel like pictures say much more than I ever could with words. As humans, we’re all so complex and can’t simply be explained with a picture of ourselves. |
